Brian Frias is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt under Andre Galvao of ATOS. Brian Frias trained Jiu-Jitsu in North Carolina while serving as an active-duty Marine for 6 years. He moved to San Diego in 2012 after leaving active duty but continued service in the reserves, ultimately serving an additional 8 years. He continued training Jiu-jitsu in San Diego and spent 3 years training full-time at ATOS Jiu-Jitsu Headquarters. He received his jiu-jitsu black belt from Andre Galvao in 2019.
Brian was a Police Officer for San Diego from 2014 until late 2022. Most of his time was spent working Patrol, SWAT, and proactive police teams. He helped improve the SWAT combative program and provided training to several different units within the department.
Brian left law enforcement and moved to Florida in 2022. He travels and provides training under the brand Shivworks with his mentor Craig Douglas as a Shivworks instructor, Brain has delivered instruction to Officers from several different countries, specialized military units, US government intelligence agencies, and open enrolment courses to the public. Brian has also conducted training for C4C PJJ, a law enforcement-specific combatives program.

Eric Mitchell is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt under Joe “Bamboo” Wissmann of Gracie Westchase. Eric Mitchell has lived most of his life in the city of Clearwater and takes his responsibility to his community very seriously.
Eric Mitchell has 30+ years of Jiu-Jitsu experience intermixed with various other martial arts. Eric owned and operated his successful academy where he learned his passion for instructorship. Eric has since, sold his academy, and is now actively serving the people of Clearwater as a Corporal in the Training Unit at Clearwater Police Department. Eric is a highly skilled Veteran Law Enforcement Officer with 18 years of dedicated service to Pinellas County, including over 16 years on SWAT. Lead instructor at Pinellas County SWAT School. Certified FDLE Instructor in Firearms, Defensive Tactics, Driving, First Aid, and Physical Fitness. Eric’s dedication and advanced law enforcement skills have led him to co-found the Clearwater Blue Foundation where he helps develop the next generation of law enforcement professionals.
Eric has recently joined the Shivworks team and instructs the curriculum at Clearwater Police Department under the advisement of Craig Douglas and Brian Frias.
